Nádler, István

Visegrád, 1938

He completed the Hungarian Academy of Fine Arts as a pupil of Gyula Hincz in 1963, and was a member of the Zugló Circle until 1966. He left for a tour of Europe in 1964, and worked in Vence by invitation of the Károlyi foundation. Travelled to Paris in 1966 and won the scholarship of the Folkwang Museum of Essen in 1972. Participated in the Iparterv exhibitions and was one of the founders of the Budapest Workshop. He worked in the artist colonies of Kuopio (Finland) in 1976, and of Moravany in 1977. He worked as sculptor in the artist colony of Győr in 1978. He held the scholarship of the Hungarian Academy of Rome in 1992, and was the guest artist of the Villa Romana of Florence in 1993, working with a grant in Lisbon in 1995. A guest professor at the UCLA University of California Los Angeles in 1999. A winner of numerous international competitions, biennials and festivals.
