The Eight and the Activist
Date: 12 November 1999 - 21 November 1999
The exhibition was a showing of the centre of my interest as an art historian and collector: the Fauves, the Neos, the Eight and the Activists; their paintings wafted through by power and energy. As well as their well-known works being presented pieces that had never been put on show before and outstanding works by long-forgotten painters were also in the exhibition. 200 paintings were on show by courtesy of museums and by permission of twenty - five private collections. Among others works by Kernstok, Tihanyi, Berény, Czóbel, Czigány, Orbán, Márffy, Nemes Lampérth, Uitz, Bortnyik, György Szántó, Perlrott, Bornemisza and Bernáth were exhibited.
