Mattyasovszky-Zsolnay, László

Pécs, 1885 - 1935, Pécs

The grandson of the proprietor of the famous majolica and ceramics manufactory in Pécs studied at private schools in Munich. He went to Paris in 1903 and participated in the Salon d'Automne of 1913. Worked in Pécs between 1918 and 1921 and he was elected to membership of the Szinyei Society in 1921. He took a continual part in the ventures of the Zsolnay factory as it switched to making porcelain from 1926, and he established the Zsolnay Museum two years later.
