Kunffy, Lajos

Orci, 1869 - 1962, Somogytúr

While attending the Model Drawing School he continued his legal studies. He trained himself in Munich from 1890 onwards, first at the private school of Hollósy, then at the Academy, and finally for three years then at the Julian Academy in Paris. He lived in Paris between 1901 and 1913, participating in the exhibitions of the Société National des Beaux Arts and the Salon d' Automne, and organising a French exhibition in Budapest in 1903. He visited Tunis in 1913. He lived on his country estate in Somogytúr from 1934. He painted on the Dalmatian shores in 1937 and 1938. His studio has been a museum since 1958.
