Spent his student years under the guidance of Mihály unkácsy in Munich and Paris. As he was one of the painters of the younger generation associated with the Kunsthaus, he belonged to the group of artists who spent their time at the Royal Coffeehouse. His salon genre paintings and representative portraits were popular at the exhibitions of the Kunsthaus as well as on the art market.
