He began his studies at the Pattern Drawing School, the years 1903 to 1911 saw him at the academies of Munich, Paris, Milan, and Rome and he attended the Benczúr Master School. He taught at the School of Art from the 1930s and from 1936 was director of its colony in Miskolc. He was also chairman of the Miskolc Painters Society.
