From 1924 to 1929 he studied at the Hungarian Academy of Fine Arts, under János Vaszary and István Csók. After graduating, he got a scholarship to France. He went on study tours, in Italy in 1934 and in Holland in 1938. From 1936 he worked at the artists colony in Szolnok for a year. After 1945 he made several book illustrations.
